Gamaleis of the Ministry of Health of Russia announce the publication of a scientific article on the results of phases I-II clinical trials of the world's first vaccine against coronavirus Sputnik V, registered in the world, - RIA Novosti reports the fund.

The RDIF reported that "the article was published in one of the most authoritative medical journals in the world - The Lancet."

The Foundation said that this article is the beginning of a series of publications about the Sputnik V vaccine.

RDIF reports that in September they will present for publication "a complete study of the vaccine in animals: in primates, Syrian hamsters, transgenic mice, in which the vaccine showed 100% protective efficacy (the results on primates and Syrian hamsters were obtained before clinical trials)."

The head of RDIF, Kirill Dmitriev, said that the publication in The Lancet "confirms the high safety and efficacy of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine and demonstrates the recognition of Russian scientists by the world scientific community."

Earlier, Denis Logunov, deputy director of the Gamaleya Center for Scientific Work, said that the Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine had been delivered to medical centers, where vaccination of volunteers would begin in the near future.
