A man in his 70s, whose body was damaged by a divorced ex-wife, drew attention by filing a petition at the trial saying, "I will atone for the rest of my life."

According to the prosecution, the defendant A was arrested on charges of cutting a part of his body with a weapon (special serious injury) after feeding him sleeping pills at his ex-husband B's house in Dobong-gu, Seoul, to put him to sleep. Immediately after the crime, Mr. A surrendered to the police and was arrested as a current offender.

It was investigated that Mr. A married Mr. B 44 years ago and divorced at dusk in June 2018, and began to come and go with Mr. B again as he had trouble with his daily life due to surgery on his legs.

In addition, it was revealed that the reason for their divorce was due to Mr. B's frequent domestic violence.

At a trial held today (27th) at the hearing of the sixth criminal trial (Judge Sang-soo Choi) of the Northern District Law in Seoul, Mr. A said, "I continued to be beaten (by my ex-husband) and applied for a restraint two years ago." I stated to the effect that I did. In addition, Mr. A's lawyer also said, "I acknowledge all the prosecution's charges."

According to the court, Mr. B submitted a petition stating,'I do not have a grudge against (the defendant), and I think that I have been paid for the offenses that have been neglecting (the victim)'.

The next trial is scheduled to take place on the 22nd of next month.
