He noted that a complete answer to the question will require more accurate data and time for calculations.

“But two explanations can be offered at once. The first, which seems more likely, is the reflections in the ISS window through which the filming was carried out, ”the press service of the IKI RAS quotes the specialist.

He named another possible explanation for what he saw.

"We also see reflections, but from the Starlink satellites of Elon Musk," he added.

The fact that these lights fade away so quickly is due to the rapid change in the relative positions of the ISS, satellites and the Sun, Eismont explained.

“The Starlnik satellites are moving one after another, the ISS is also moving, and we saw some of them at the moment when the beam reflected from the satellites hit the camera,” he explained.

According to him, the movement of five objects in the frame in this case is a projection onto the observer, and not their actual movement.

He stressed that in order to confirm this hypothesis, it is necessary to have more accurate data.

Mikhail Sachkov, Deputy Director for Research at the Institute of Astronomy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, also told Gazeta.Ru that unidentified objects could be glare from an artificial satellite.

“Equal distance between images speaks in favor of this version. Probably, the satellite was out of sight, and this is all - glare from it, ”the specialist explained.

Earlier, Russian cosmonaut Ivan Wagner posted a video showing five unknown objects in space.
