rainy season in the central region, which started on June 24th, continues for 49 days today (11th). In 2013, it had continued to rain for 49 days, and it is expected to exceed that record this year. There is a rain forecast until this weekend, making 2020 the longest rainy season in Korea. Even this morning, as it rained a lot throughout the central region, major roads in the metropolitan area were cut off and vehicle traffic was also restricted.

rainy season front came down after the typhoon ended, it rained again in the morning in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gangwon, and Chungbuk today.

Jangmatbi in the central region that lasted 49 days. It is the longest rainy season ever since 2013.

During the torrential downpour, sediment poured into the section between the Incheon-Gimpo Expressway North Port Tunnel and the Namcheongran Nadeulmok at dawn, causing great inconvenience to citizens on their way to work.

around 1 p.m., dirt spilled into the road near the Cheongnyang Tunnel in Dongchun-dong, Incheon, and traffic in both directions was stopped.

As heavy rain warnings in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, and Chungcheong areas were lifted at 11 am, restoration work has resumed in the flooded areas, but full-scale restoration is expected to be possible only after the rainy season is over.

The longest rainy season in history also caused significant damage.

In particular, the heavy rains in the central region that continued from the 1st and the heavy rains in the south on the 8th were particularly significant, with 36 people killed and 12 missing.

More than 7,000 people were displaced in 11 provinces, and nearly 20,000 hectares of agricultural land were submerged.
