It is these days that I make sure to watch the weather forecast to see how much rain is coming tomorrow. But the fact that forecasts are often inaccurate doesn't come from yesterday and today. It is said that an increasing number of people are looking for an overseas meteorological service app, saying they can't trust our meteorological service.

First, reporter Jung Joon-ho.

Today (11th), Norway Meteorological Agency was ranked first in real-time search terms on the portal site.

[Norway Meteorological Agency app users: If the Korea Meteorological Agency has an error rate of about 50%, they (Norway Meteorological Agency) are only 20-30%. Experienced.] Some

citizens check our weather with a weather app made in the Czech Republic.

The reason why we leave the Korea Meteorological Administration alone and visit overseas sites or apps is because of distrust.

The Meteorological Administration has announced a record-breaking heatwave, but the forecast is repeatedly misleading, such as a record rainy season followed by a heavy rain warning.

[Gyeongmin-seon/Seoul Yangcheon-gu: Should I trust this (Meteorological Agency forecast)? Shouldn't I believe it? I'm thinking like that.]

[Park Eun-kyung/Incheon Bupyeong-gu: I don't think it fits well, so I don't see it well at all.]

But it's not easy to cover the superiority of forecast accuracy.

Our weather forecasts are created by combining forecasts calculated by the weather program, observations by region, and judgment of forecasters, while most of the overseas weather apps visualize only the results of each country's weather models.

In fact, when I checked the rainfall situation in Korea on a Sunday afternoon through an app, the European and American models showed distinctly different results.

[Chang-Hui Heo/Professor of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Seoul National University: I use the observation results a little more (than overseas apps), and all of them are judged by the report now.] The

Meteorological Administration in a situation where the words'Oh Heo Cheong' and'Meteorological Administration asylum' appear. There is a growing voice calling for exertion.
