▲ The Seomjin River basin flooded by heavy rain
The man found in the Gokseong River was confirmed to be Mr. A (56), who disappeared after being swept away by rapids the day before.
Today (9th) at 8:30 am, a report was received that a river was missing in a river in Godal-myeon, Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do.
Police and firefighters rescued the drowning man, but he was already dead.
Through fingerprints, the police confirmed that the man was Mr. A, who was missing the day before.
Mr. A was found in a waterway just before joining the Seomjin River, about 1.5 km from the disappearance point.
Mr. A was swept away by rapids yesterday while crossing a road above a river called Godalcheon with an acquaintance.
