Youtubeur Youssoupha Diaby introduced us to the new Super Mario Maker (and it's super hard) - 20 Minutes

The data leak which concerns Nintendo is gigantic and has also been dubbed "gigaleak". While it was declared last May, new elements leaked last Thursday and Saturday on the Internet, according to Video Game Chronicle.

First disseminated on the 4Chan forum , the elements of this large-scale hack - nearly two Terabits of data have been made available - can be found on social networks. Elements on video games ultimately aborted, trade secrets or many visuals of emblematic characters from the studio have been released.

Disclosure of source code of games

Among the games that Nintendo has never released, we point to MMO Pokemon , whose marketing was scheduled for 2004, Ultra Mario Bros 64  or  The Donkey , notes BFMTV. The secrets of making games have also come to light. This is the case of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island , game from 1995, on the SNES console.

This large leak also exhibits prototypes of characters that never saw the light of day. The Twitter account "A bot in the RAM", which has widely disseminated images of this "gigaleak", plays with characters from the universe of Super Mario World , like that of the dinosaur Yoshi, the companion of the famous hero. An enemy that was not used in the final version of the Yoshi's Island game also appears.

Lots of interesting discoveries in here, including a pre-alpha (?) Build of Yoshi's Island called "Super Donkey" that starred a character who looked suspiciously like Stanley the Bugman from Donkey Kong 3. Someone needs to CTRL + F for the original Donkey Kong Country CGI models. https://t.co/PVxYd7vFb7 pic.twitter.com/e5AbzNVaR6

This data breach is embarrassing for Nintendo. Beyond the trade secrets, conversations between the various developers have been unveiled and the source codes of many games have been made available, which means that they can be modified, recompiled or adapted to other platforms.
