The Ministry of Environment revealed that larvae were found in 7 places including Incheon as a result of a field inspection of 49 nationwide advanced treatment plants installed with activated carbon, which is the place where tap water larvae are generated.

The seven larva found water purification plants are Incheon Gongchon, Incheon Bupyeong, Gyeonggi Hwaseong, Gimhae Samgye, Yangsan Beomeo, Ulsan Hoeya, Uiryeong Hwajeong.

The Ministry of Environment has taken measures such as replacing and cleaning activated carbon in the water purification plant where larvae were found.

The Ministry of Environment also ordered supplementation by the 23rd, when operational problems such as not installing an insect screen were pointed out at 12 advanced water treatment plants nationwide.

In the field survey, 19 complaints of water larva complaints received from Seoul, Busan, and Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do, except Incheon, were found to be independent of the water purification plant.
