<Anchor> The

arrest warrant for the suspect in the assault at Seoul Station was dismissed last night (4th). After hitting the first viewer to break the cheekbones, the suspect, who ran away and was caught in a week, was released again. The court explained that the investigation agency entered the suspect's house without an arrest warrant and urgently arrested it because the process was illegal and the warrant was dismissed. Victims say they are worried that they will ever come across the released man again. Today's 8 o'clock news will focus on this story.

First, reporter Han So-hee will tell you more about the reason for dismissing the warrant.

Immediately after the arrest warrant was dismissed, the suspect, Lee Mo, left the Yongsan Police Station on a railroad police van.

It was released two days after the emergency arrest at the home of Dongjak-gu, Seoul on the 2nd.

The court used unusual expressions of'illegal arrest' and pointed out the unfairness of the arrest process.

Emergency arrests are permitted only in cases where there is an urgent situation in which the suspect cannot be issued a warrant for arrest even if the suspect has been accused of imprisonment for more than three years and fears of destruction or escape of evidence. I couldn't explain.

The railroad police had identified Lee's identity, address, and cell phone number, and because Lee was sleeping at home, it was not a situation to destroy evidence, so he decided that it was not urgent enough to make an emergency arrest.

The English proverb even used the expression "one man's house is his citadel," but it is understood that the railroad police forcefully opened and arrested the suspect's door without a warrant is an act of ignoring the procedure.

[Kyungshin Park/Professor of the Graduate School of Law, Korea University: (This expression) means that arrest must be done by a warrant when it is done at home. Arresting at home can expose your privacy even more than at other locations.] The

railroad police postponed the decision to re-apply for a arrest warrant and decided to continue investigating Lee's further offenses.
