Scientists from the European Copernicus service, who work on climate change, noted global temperatures far above normal in the past month.

They compared the data recorded since 1981, the year in which temperatures began to be measured, and came to the conclusion that last month had therefore broken all records.

Sweet summer at the poles

The study authors noted 0.63 degrees above average, but the highest temperatures were recorded in Siberia with almost 10 degrees above normal.

🔴🌡️At 0.63 ° C above average, May 2020 was the warmest May on record globally, although it was cooler in Europe.

The last twelve month period was 0.66 ° C warmer, matching the warmest on record.

Symbols of this global warming: the Arctic and the Antarctic, where scientists observed a particularly mild summer this year, which accelerates the melting of the ice.

2019 was the second warmest year in the world after 2016. Scientists expect a new world record between 2020 and 2025.
