A suspect in a series of sexual assaults in an area in Jeollanam-do was caught by the police.

Yesterday (3rd), the Jeollanam-do Police Agency said it was investigating and arresting Mr. A, a man in his 50s, who was suspected of being involved in five sexual assaults targeting older women.

According to the police, from early March to last month, a series of sexual assaults against women aged only in one region in Jeollanam-do occurred. The police, who entered the investigation, found the suspect's genetic information (DNA) at the scene of the crime, but the case was unresolved for some time.

Meanwhile, the police caught Mr. A, who was alleged to have infiltrated a victim and raped the victim this spring at about 7:00 this morning. However, the police investigating Mr. A found that they were found on the scene of a serial sexual assault and matched Mr. A's DNA. It was also confirmed that Mr. A's appearance was similar to that of suspects witnessed by victims of serial sexual assault.

Mr. A, who has been identified as a leading suspect in a series of sexual assault cases, is now known to deny other sexual assault charges. The police say they will focus on investigating the connection between Mr. A and sexual assault cases and request a warrant for arrest.
