The Witcher passes the milestone of 50 million copies sold - Geeko

Sales of The Witcher skyrocketed after the series aired on Netflix. The cult saga of CD Projekt has just reached a new milestone by soaring beyond 50 million sales, all media combined. These figures include sales of the first three parts of the franchise, but also of the spin-off Thronebreaker , but not of the free-to-play card game Gwent .

The first quarter of 2020 beat all expectations for the Polish publisher, with record figures partly linked to the confinement but also to the success of the television series The Witcher on Netflix. Sales of The Witcher 3 in particular, which recently celebrated its fifth anniversary, were very good.

One of the biggest successes in the history of video games

If the Polish studio concentrates all its efforts today on its new franchise, Cyberpunk , it intends to return soon to the universe of The Witcher with new games. No follow-up to the program, however, but probably spin-offs.
