It was a distress call that triggered the intervention of the gendarmes. A woman telephoned the gendarmes after her companion tried to strangle her. When the soldiers intervened on the spot, they were attacked by the suspect, a doctor at the CHU de Tourcoing. Under the influence of alcohol, the latter claimed to be hit by Covid-19. While the soldiers had equipped him with gloves and a mask to bring him back to the brigade, the suspect managed to get rid of it and would have tried to contaminate the gendarmes by coughing voluntarily on them, the parquet floor tells Europe 1 from Lille.
