A 34-year-old Chinese doctor who first warned of the emergence of the new corona virus died yesterday (6th day) of infection with the corona virus, CNN reported.
Li Wen Liang, a doctor at Wuhan Central Hospital in China, found on December 30 that seven patients from Wuhan's seafood market had symptoms similar to SARS.
Wen Liang said in a group chat room where he shared his diagnosis with medical alumni, saying "new SARS has emerged."
Four days later, Wuhan police arrested Wen Liang and seven other doctors in a group chat room for alleged false dissemination.
Doctors, including Wen Liang, were soon released by the police. However, Wen Liang was confirmed positive for the new corona last day after showing signs of infection such as coughing and fever.
Chinese media, including the Hong Kong South China Post, say many Chinese are celebrating the death of Wen Lien through social media.
