A stray dog has become a true star on social networks in Georgia after a video went viral in which the dog helps a group of children in a nursery to cross the street in the company of their teacher.
In the images uploaded to the network - and that already have more than a million views - you can see how the dog, nicknamed Kupata, jumps in front of the cars and barks to force them to stop while the children begin to cross the street in the direction to a park in the coastal city of Batumi .
The brave 4-year-old dog lives on the portal of one of the local homes and "helping children to walk on the street has become their favorite task," say the building's neighbors. The attitude of the animal has also earned him an award from the Department of Tourism of the Adjara region to which the Batumi spa belongs.
The authorities gave Kupata a booth with a star reminiscent of the Hollywood Walk of Fame . " People's choice " reads the inscription in Georgian and English on the personal star of the street dog.
"This decision was taken in thanks to the dog for his protective work and exemplary behavior," Meri Emiridze , a spokesman for tourism authorities, told Efe.
In addition, dog fans have created a Facebook page where Kupata already has numerous followers.
