“Astronauts Christina Cook and Jessica Meir completed the first only female spacewalk by successfully replacing a failed battery with a backup one that is already activated and is charging a lithium-ion battery,” the organization said in a statement on Twitter.
The flight of the astronauts lasted about seven hours.
