Facebook loses two executives. Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg said product chief Chris Cox and head of the chat service WhatsApp, Chris Daniels, had decided to leave the group. "While it's sad to lose such great people, it also creates opportunities for more great leaders."

WhatsApp's new boss will be Will Cathcart, who was last responsible for the Facebook app. Zuckerberg described Cathcart as "one of the most talented executives in our company."

The job of Cox - which among other things, the strategy of the various apps of the group managed - will initially not be filled, Zuckerberg said. Instead, the bosses of Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Whatsapp would report directly to him. Facebook boss Zuckerberg had recently announced after massive criticism in recent months, the online network to focus more on the protection of privacy.
