The government today announced measures to strengthen fine dust management at the Seoul government building on the morning of June 8 at a meeting of the state affairs inspection meeting held under Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon.

The government said it would officially dismantle the so-called Clean Diesel policy.

As a result, the incentives that were granted to about 950,000 light vehicles, which were recognized as low-pollution vehicles in the past, such as the reduction of parking fees and congestion fee reductions, are also abolished.

Emergency reduction measures taken in the event of high concentrations of fine dust are also strengthened.

Until now, emergency vehicles were issued on the following day. However, starting February of next year, vehicles will stop operating immediately.

Coal-fired power plant We also adjusted shutdown targets to substantially reduce fine dust.

In the past, we shut down Samcheonpo 1 and 2, which are old power plants that were built more than 30 years ago in spring, but decided to shut down Samchonpo 5 and 6, which are about three times their unit emissions.

It also strengthens the response to fine dust coming from overseas such as China.

We will cooperate with local governments in China to expand cooperation projects such as applying Korea's excellent environmental technologies to all industrial pollution prevention facilities in China.
