The Clean Diesel policy is being abolished in order to reduce the number of vehicles that are regarded as one of the high concentration fine dust accidents.

On May 8, the government held a meeting of the 56th state affairs check and adjustment meeting under the presidency of Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon at the Seoul government building and announced measures to strengthen emergency and regular fine dust management including these contents.

The government has officially revoked the Clean Diesel policy.

As a result, the criteria for recognizing low-pollution light vehicles have been deleted, and incentives granted to about 950,000 light vehicles that have been recognized as past low-pollution vehicles such as parking fees and congestion charge reduction are also abolished.

Coal-fired power plant We have also adjusted the shutdown target to substantially reduce the fine dust.

In the past, we shut down Samcheonpo 1 and 2, the old power plants that were built more than 30 years ago in spring (March to June), but decided to shut down Samchonpo 5 and 6, which are about three times their unit emissions.

It also strengthens the response of fine dirt coming in from abroad such as China.

We will cooperate with local governments in China to expand cooperation projects such as applying Korea's excellent environmental technologies to all industrial pollution prevention facilities in China.

The government said, "If there is a high concentration of fine dust, we will respond to the situation in accordance with the disaster situation, and the public sector will lead the emergency reduction measures."
