A report by Buzzfeed magazine accuses the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) of working with game wardens who brutally crack down on poachers.

Game wardens and paramilitaries cooperating with the WWF have beaten, tortured or even killed prisoners. Also reported by an attempted rape "Buzzfeed". The incidents are said to have occurred, inter alia, in Nepal, India and Cameroon.

The WWF announced that it would investigate the allegations in an independent investigation. "Respect for human rights is at the heart of our mission," the organization said.

As Buzzfeed goes on to say, the WWF operates like a "global spider web" operating a network of "informants," even though the Foundation publicly denies it. Allegations that the WWF bought weapons from criminals in the Central African Republic are also under investigation.

The WWF Foundation was founded in 1961 and is one of the largest conservation organizations in the world. It has offices in more than 80 countries and is largely funded by donations.
