Portugal has qualified for the final tournament of the Nations League. After a 0-0 draw in the Nations League in Italy, the European champion of 2016 is no longer pushing out of first place in Group A3. Twenty-four shots on goal failed to score a goal for both teams at the Guiseppe Meazza stadium. Turkey, on the other hand, has relegated to the C-League.

The Portuguese, who once again had to do without their superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, did little in the first half towards the Italian goal. Ronaldo had not been nominated for the national team after the World Cup.

Italy were the better team, but also the Squadra Azzurra could rarely be Portugal goalkeeper Rui Patricio dangerous. Instead, Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma even had to prevent a defeat. A shot from William Carvalhos kept the 19-year-old keeper in sight (81 minutes).

The draw handed the Portuguese to keep the two-point lead over Italy. The group win saw Portugal host the Final Four in June 2019. Even before the last group match day, on Tuesday Portugal plays against Poland, Poland is determined as relegated.
