Real Madrid has displaced Manchester United from the top. The Champions League winner of the past three seasons was in the past season, according to Deloitte with 750.9 million euros, the strongest football club in Europe - before the arch rival FC Barcelona (690.4 million euros). United (666) fell back to third. The best German club follows in fourth place: Bayern converted 629.2 million euros.

This emerges from the annual "Football Money League" ranking of the examination and consulting company, which has now been published for the 22nd time. Deloitte takes into account the proceeds from ticket sales, television rights and other commercial revenues such as sponsorship and merchandise. Proceeds from player transfers are usually not received. The numbers differ in part significantly from the official club information.

Among the top ten are - due to the significantly higher TV revenues - six clubs from the English Premier League. Among them is also the Liverpool FC. The team of coach Jürgen Klopp had been ninth in the previous year's ranking, now the Reds rose to seventh place and are thus behind the clubs from Manchester the highest-turnover Premier League club.

Apart from Bayern, two teams made it into the top 20 from the Bundesliga: Borussia Dortmund (12th place, 317.2 million euros, around 15 million fewer than in the previous year) and Schalke 04 (16th place, 243.8 million euros, round 14 more than in the previous year). Interesting: For the second time in a row no team is represented that does not come from the five major leagues, England, Spain, Germany, Italy and France.
