The broadcast of the Bundesliga match between FC Bayern and FC Augsburg on Friday evening has been canceled by Iranian state television Irib. Reason should be the referee's start of the DFB, who had selected Bibiana Steinhaus as a game director. This was reported by various Iranian media on Saturday.

Because of the strict Islamic regulations, Iranian television shows no pictures of women dressed in revolt. Also, short sports pants, as she carries Steinhaus as a referee, fall under these provisions.

Canceled at short notice! No transfer of the game @FCBayern @FCA_World Augsburg in #Iran state television. And who is to blame: Bibi again, of course. Bibiana Steinhaus is a woman and wears shorts. Something like that should not be seen on Iranian state television. pic.twitter.com/lGBrN6SpME

In movies, such scenes are censored. Because a censorship of a referee in a live game would hardly have been possible, the transfer was simply canceled, they said.

Even in the past, draws or opening ceremonies of major football tournaments in Iran had not been completely broadcast.

Steinhaus is since 2017 Bundesliga referee. Previously, she had already whistled games in the women's Bundesliga.
