Canadians Ryan Fry and Jamie Koe, Chris Schille and DJ Kidby have been eliminated in the Red Curling Classic as part of the World Curling Tour for unsporting behavior. This was announced by the World Curling Tour. Fry, 2014 Olympic champion, and his teammates had riotously drunk in changing rooms and on the ice.

Wade Thurber, speaking at the Red Deer CBS Sports event in Canada, said: "They came out to Curlen and were extremely drunk, they broke brooms and started to mob, it was just unacceptable." Furthermore, there had been "damage in the locker room". Other teams had complained that the Canadian curling team had been overriding materials from the competition.

The arbitral tribunal then unanimously decided to exclude the Canadian team from the $ 35,000 (a little € 30,600) endowed competition.

Fry then apologized: "I lost control and offended people, so I apologize and take action that will never happen again."

The World Curling Tour asked the organizers of the Red Deer Curling Classic to prepare a report to discuss further action.
