In the pursuit race over 12.5 kilometers in Oslo, Norwegian Johannes Thingnes Bø clinched his 15th victory of the season. The 25-year-old is now the sole record holder for most World Cup victories within a season. Bø's sprint victory on Friday caught up with France's previous record holder Martin Fourcade.

Second place went to Bø's older brother Tarjei (+ 13.9 seconds). In the finish, the winner waited for his brother and together they hailed the historic success. The German Arnd Peiffer prevailed on the last climb against Felix Leitner from Austria and came so in third place (+18.2). Peiffer's teammate Benedikt Doll finished seventh (+57.4) with three penalties.

Bø had been the winner of the overall World Cup ranking before the race. 342 points behind the Russian Alexander Loginow in second place, closely followed by Quentin Fillon Maillet from France. On Sunday, the mass start will take place in Oslo (women 13.45 clock, men 16.30 clock), the last race of the World Cup season.
