It was a Norwegian victory in the biathlon men's mass start in the last World Cup weekend before the WC in Nove Mesto.

But it was not the expected Johannes Thingnes Bö who won - but Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen.

Thingnes Bö was at a disadvantage from the start, before the first shot he fell straight into the snow.

And then he missed two shots on the shooting range and was forced into two penalty rounds.

He then missed two more shots in his standing shooters.

But despite his four penalty rounds, he finished fifth, defeated by Frenchman Quentin Fillon Maillet and four compatriots.

Jesper Nelin became the best Swede with a seventh place, his second best placing in the World Cup.
