The Frenchman Cyprien Sarrazin secured his next victory in the downhill classic in Kitzbühel with an exceptional performance.

One day after his first triumph on the Streif, the 29-year-old outclassed his rival Marco Odermatt from Switzerland by 0.91 seconds.

South Tyrolean Dominik Paris came third in the Austrian ski mecca (+1.44 seconds).

With his run, Odermatt had taken over a second off the American Ryan Cochran-Siegle, who was leading at the time.

The Swiss seemed to have already left the competition behind - only to be immediately distanced by Sarrazin, who beat his winning time from the previous day on the icy slope by 2.79 seconds.

After switching from giant slalom, the Frenchman, nicknamed “Psycho”, finally consolidated his status as the absolute top driver in the speed disciplines.

Sarrazin spoke on ARD about the “best moment of my life” and said: “I drove with my heart.” At the finish, he took off his skis and jumped onto the advertising board, cheering.

Sarrazin followed suit with his great compatriot Luc Alphand, who also triumphed twice in “Kitz” in 1995.

"I can't understand it all, it's crazy," he said.

Dreßen enjoys a champagne shower when saying goodbye

Thomas Dreßen missed the top 30 in his last appearance in the World Cup (+4.46), but the farewell of the most successful German downhill skier in history was still an emotional highlight.

At the finish, wife Birgit and daughter Elena were waiting for Dreßen, colleagues and competitors prepared a champagne shower for him.

»The reception was incredible.

I'm just glad it ended like this.

There is nothing hotter than Kitzbühel!" said Dreßen, who won the Hahnenkamm Race in 2018: "I drove everything with a little reserve.

I wanted to enjoy it.”

Andreas Sander (+2.54) showed improvement and was close to the top 15. Simon Jocher (+2.76), Romed Baumann (+3.03) and Josef Ferstl (+3.05) were further behind.
