Chinanews.com, Shenzhen, January 1 -- The inaugural meeting of the Riding and Archery Sports Center of the China Minority Sports Association was held in Shenzhen recently. The establishment of the center aims to establish a standardized mounted archery system in China, and to carry out relevant training competitions and international cultural exchange activities.

According to reports, the Mounted Archery Sports Center was established by the China Minority Sports Association, with the participation of relevant equestrian archery associations and clubs, local minority departments and youth educational institutions, and carried out national work under the guidance of the Horse Culture and Sports Committee of the China Minority Sports Association.

As a special riding and archery sports institution, the center will attract professional equestrian archery clubs and enthusiasts from all over the country to participate, cultivate local riding and archery bases, establish a domestic standardized riding and archery system, and carry out relevant training competitions and international cultural exchange activities.

Wang Xiang, secretary-general of the China Ethnic Minorities Sports Association, said that horseback riding and archery are the core contents of the "six arts of gentlemen" of the Chinese nation and the "three arts of men" of the Chinese nomadic people. Mounted archery combines the technical characteristics of horse riding and traditional bow archery, and is also an important competition item in the national and local minority games, forming a large number of rich historical and cultural contents such as "Hufu riding and archery", and promoting the formation of the sense of community of the Chinese nation.

Wu Gangfang, chairman of the Horse Culture and Sports Committee of the China Minority Sports Association, said that mounted archery requires the wearing of national clothing and armor, forming a unique cultural identification system.

Regarding the future development plan of the center, Li Yunyi, executive deputy director of the Mounted Archery Sports Center, said that he would refer to the competition rules of major international riding and archery organizations, combined with the characteristics of Chinese riding and archery culture, and build an international competition system and competition management methods in line with Chinese characteristics to ensure the fairness, safety and welfare of the competition.

Specifically, he said that he will actively prepare for domestic and international mounted archery competitions, and plans to hold no less than two international mounted archery competitions and no less than 2 national mounted archery competitions every year; formulate the "Standard System for the Assessment of China's Mounted Archery Grades" and related sub-station assessments and time arrangements, and formulate and implement the "Measures for the Management of Points and Selection of the Chinese National Team" The Chinese national team of mounted archery will be formed in various provinces and municipalities, and the promotion of mounted archery culture will be actively carried out in schools, and the safety standards for the classification and use of mounted archery horses will be done well, so as to improve the safety and health of the use of mounted archery horses.
