Cameroon enters the 34th Africa Cup of Nations at the Charles Konan Banny in Yamoussoukro. The Indomitable Lions face Guinea in the toughest group of this preliminary round.

The match will be commented by our colleagues at RFI and can be followed live from 18 p.m. Paris time.

Cameroon go into this first match without their captain, Vincent Aboubakar, who suffered a left thigh injury in training. However, the staff of the Indomitable Lions assures that the hero of the 2017 final will be able to play again in the competition.

Group C is considered by many observers as the "group of death" of this AFCON 2024 because it includes, in addition to Cameroon and Guinea, Senegal and Gambia. On paper, the two teams nicknamed "Lions" are favourites but the African Cup always has its share of surprises.

In Guinea, coach Kaba Diawara continues the work he started at the previous AFCON, where he replaced Didier Six just before the tournament, and relies on Serhou Guirassy, the prolific goalscorer of Stuttgart, and the little prodigy Ilaix Moriba, trained at Barça and currently at Getafe.
