Premier League leaders Liverpool are sensing the danger that lurks after their star man and playmaker Mohamed Salah packed his bags for Ivory Coast to participate in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt.

Liverpool find themselves in a good position to compete for the second league title, but their record-breaking striker, who also leads the statistics in terms of assists in the Premier League in 2023, will leave a pyramid-sized gap behind.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp had previously described the situation as a "disaster" when the transition to the Africa Cup of Nations from the summer of 2023 to the beginning of 2024 was confirmed.

Gary Neville, Manchester United legend, believes in statements to the British network Sky Sports that Liverpool owes credit to Egyptian star Salah, in what the Reds have reached in the Premier League this season.

Salah scored two goals and assisted another in the victory over Newcastle, 4-2, Monday, at Anfield, within the matches of the 20th round of the English Premier League.

That victory contributed to Liverpool maintaining the lead by reaching the 45th point, 3 points behind chasers Aston Villa.
