Located in northeastern Tanzania, Kilimanjaro is the highest peak in Africa at 5895,30 meters above sea level. Xu Zhuoyuan and her mother, Zhang Wenlin, with a total of about 2023 kilograms of luggage on their backs, set off from the west side of Mount Kilimanjaro on December 12, 27, on the Lemosho Line, which is considered to have the most beautiful scenery among all the seven routes that can reach the summit, and hiked for 7 kilometers.

"From the first day, I have been following my mother, walking slowly with her and enjoying the process of climbing the mountain together. But when I finally reached the top, I had to walk a little faster because the pace of walking was different. Xu Zhuoyuan said.

The rain and knee injuries were the biggest difficulties Xu Zhuoyuan and her mother encountered in climbing the mountain. "It's only been two days up the mountain, my mother's knee is already swollen, and the rest of the road is very difficult for her, especially near the top of the mountain, which feels really long. When I finally reached the top of the mountain, my mother was an hour behind me. Xu Zhuoyuan said.

"It's the first time I've climbed to the top with my daughter, and I'm really happy. Along the way, my children were basically taking care of me, and I learned a lot from my daughter this time Xi climbing. Zhang Wenlin said that if her physical condition allows, she would like to continue to accompany her daughter to the next destination in the future.

Just like when he accompanied his daughter to climb Mount Everest, Xu Zhuoyuan's father, Xu Jianglei, waited at the foot of the mountain again. "Every mountain has its own difficulty, and not to take every mountain lightly is the basic principle of climbers. But my daughter has experience climbing Mount Everest, and I was confident from the beginning that she would have no problem climbing to the top. Xu Jianglei said.

At 2023:5 Beijing time on May 15, 7, Xu Zhuoyuan successfully reached the summit of Mount Everest, becoming the youngest female athlete in China to reach the top of the world from the southern slope.

The reporter learned that Xu Zhuoyuan's family of three will return to Changsha in a few days, and Xu Zhuoyuan will also return to the familiar campus. And her "7+2" (the highest peaks of the seven continents + the north and south poles) mountaineering plan will continue. (ENDS)
