Copenhagen accompanied Bayern Munich to the knockout stages of the Champions League (Reuters)

Danish team Copenhagen blew a surprise of heavy caliber by qualifying for the price of the Champions League final after beating Galatasaray with a clean goal at the end of Group A of the Champions League football, while Manchester United came out of the continental season empty-handed.

In another group match, Manchester United's slim chance of qualifying for the final was dashed by a clean goal defeat to Bayern Munich at Old Trafford.

The three-time European champion needed to beat Bayern at the end of the group stage with Copenhagen drawing with Galatasaray.

Neither thing happened, with Kingsley Coman scoring from close range in the 70th minute for Bayern, who ended the first set undefeated.

The Bavarian team topped the group with 16 points, 8 points behind second-placed Copenhagen, while Galatasaray qualified for the Europa League play-offs by finishing third in the group, and the last place remains for United with 4 points.

Real Madrid finished top of the group stage with 18 points from six consecutive wins.

At the Ander Alten Foresteri Stadium, Union Berlin's victory with Sporting Braga's loss to Napoli was enough for the German team to end their campaign in third place and move to the Europa League, but they lost in the final seconds
to Real Madrid thanks to a goal from Dani Ceballos.

Kevin Voland advanced with a goal for Union Berlin (45), then Joselo equalized for the Royal Club (61), after which the same player returned and scored the second goal of the visitors (72).

Czech Alex Kral responded with Union Berlin's equalizer in the 85th minute but Ceballos snatched the winning goal for Real one minute before the end.

Sociedad lead

In the group, Real Sociedad snatched the lead after snatching a goalless draw from its host Inter Milan at the "Giuseppe Meazza" stadium.

Each team got a point to equal the balance of the two teams with 12 points, but the Spanish team snatched the top of the group superior on goal difference, and together they advanced to the round of 16.
