The final round of the women's golf domestic tour tournament was held in Chonan, Chiba Prefecture, and Mao Saigo, a native of Chiba Prefecture, won the tournament for the first time this season with a total of 16 under.
Saigo started the final round with a solo lead at 12-under par and bogeyed No. 2, but followed by a birdie on No. 5 and then sank long putts on Nos. 6 and 7 in quick succession to make three consecutive birdies.
Saigo added two more birdies in the second half to improve his score by four with five birdies and one bogey for a 3-under total and his first win of the season and sixth on tour since last May.
Ayako Kimura, who started in eighth place, improved her score by five to finish in second place, three strokes behind, while Ai Suzuki, Yuri Yoshida, South Korea's Lee Hana and Minami Hiruta were in third place, one stroke behind.
Miyu Yamashita, who leads the team in points and prize money for the year, was tied for 8rd at 5 under.
