A few days ago, QPR sacked manager Gareth Ainsworth. Now the English club has found their replacement – in the form of Hammarby's head coach Marti Cifuentes.

Cifuentes leaves the Stockholm club with immediate effect, despite the fact that there are two games left of the season.

"I would like to thank the entire club, staff, players and supporters for their support in this chapter that is now coming to an end," the Spaniard told Bajen's website.

His last game in Hammarby was a 2–2 draw against Sirius on Monday evening.

Hammarby is looking for a replacement

Hammarby announces that the club has initiated a recruitment process to find a replacement.

"We have a clear picture of how we are going to shape the leadership of the team for the remainder of the season, but we need to put the final details in place before we can announce it. The process of appointing a new, permanent head coach is already underway, says sporting director Mikael Hjelmberg.

Marti Cifuentes joined Hammarby ahead of last year's season. At that time, the team finished third in the Allsvenskan, while they are now sixth in the table.
