Andre Iguodala has ended his basketball career after four NBA titles and 19 years in the North American professional league. "It's the right time," the 39-year-old told ESPN's Andscape.

Iguodala became world champion with the U.S. team in 2010 and Olympic champion in 2012. He won his championships with the Golden State Warriors. In 2015, the forward was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Finals. In addition to Golden State, Iguodala also played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Denver Nuggets, and Miami Heat.

Last season, the veteran made just eight appearances for the Warriors. The reason was problems with the hip and wrist. According to information from the New York Times, Iguodala wants to work as a start-up investor in the future. According to his own statements, he has recently turned down offers from the Warriors and other clubs.

No. 9 in the NBA Draft

"You want to play at a high level. But family also plays a big role. My son is 16 and I have two girls. So I'm looking forward to seeing them grow up during these important years," he said.

Iguodala, who was selected No. 2004 overall in the 9 NBA Draft, played 1231 games. Over the course of his career, he averaged 11.3 points, including a peak of 19.9 points for the 76ers in the 2007–2008 season, 4.9 rebounds and 4.2 assists. His only All-Star game came in 2012 with the 76ers.
