The Italian Alberto Dainese won this Friday to the sprint the 19th stage of the Vuelta a España, between La Bañeza and Íscar, after which the American Sepp Kuss is a little closer to the final victory.

The Italian won the finish line in Íscar to his compatriot Filippo Ganna, who was second in a tight finish, and the Dutchman Marijn Van der Berg, who entered third. He did so shortly after a hard fall in which four cyclicalists were involved, initially without serious physical consequences.

Dainese won a stage for sprinters before facing the penultimate stage of La Vuelta on Saturday in which Kuss could practically take the final victory.

The American of Jumbo-Visma continues to lead the overall standings ahead of teammates Jonas Vingegaard, at 17 seconds, and Primoz Roglic, at 1 minute 8 seconds.

The three riders who have at hand complete the first treble on the podium in Madrid, since the one achieved by the Kas-Kaskol formation in 1966.

On Saturday will take place the 20th and penultimate stage of La Vuelta, of 208 km, with a leg-breaking route between Manzanares el Real and Guadarrama with ten third-category ports.
