Yesterday, Truls Möregårdh received the news that he will not get one of the four men's places for the Olympics in Tokyo.

A big reason for this is that he performed a knee operation last autumn and is therefore not one hundred percent yet.

- It's sad of course.

I'm disappointed.

I think I do well and train well.

I have recovered from my injury incredibly fast and in a good way.

I'm playing at 75 percent of my ability now and still doing well.

"

He does not know how hard I work at home

"

Did you expect to come along?

- I had expected that they had thought about the future and that it is a good experience to go to the Olympics.

Do you think you could have performed one hundred percent at the Olympics, given the injury?

- I really think so.

We have had a plan since I had surgery to be at my best this summer and for the Olympics.

Jörgen (Persson, the national team captain) was unsure of that.

That was probably one of the biggest reasons, but at the same time he does not know how hard I work at home.

If he had been with more on the journey and during my rehab, he might have understood it more, but now it is as it is, says Möregårdh.

Persson:

"

It was too late for him

"

Jörgen Persson says that it is good that Möregårdh is disappointed, but refers to the injury and the competition as a reason why he is not involved.

- You want to be involved and that's good, but at the same time he has played so little and it is such tough competition.

This time it was a little too late for him.

Had he had a few more matches before, he would have had a better chance, says the national team captain and continues:

- He has not really returned to the level he was at before the injury.

I think it feels better that he builds up and comes at full speed to the next season which starts after the Olympics.
