Marco Rose casually brushed aside the question of his future.

A few days ago, the 44-year-old would not have thought it possible that the coach of Borussia Mönchengladbach would have annoyed another person before the duel against his possible future employer Borussia Dortmund.

The subject of Breel Embolo continues to concern the Gladbach company, much to Rose's annoyance.

“We know that Breel is responsible for the situation.

It's not good for us because we want to focus on football, ”said Rose on Thursday.

Even without Embolos possible participation in an illegal party in Essen last weekend, this would have been difficult before the important Borussia duel on Friday (8.30 p.m., ZDF and DAZN).

After all, Rose is at the top of the wish list for the coming season for BVB bosses.

But even this topic takes a back seat in view of the opaque Causa Embolo.

What happened at the Baldeneysee?

"I don't want to comment on speculation," Rose simply said to himself and, for once, seemed quite relaxed before he turned his gaze to the task ahead.

You have an important game against Borussia Dortmund.

"We really want to win that," said Rose.

He responded much more annoyed to the questions about Embolo, who will definitely be in the squad on Friday despite the allegations by the Essen police.

"The subject is really something for Breel's lawyers now," said Rose.

However, it is doubtful whether the subject is settled.

Allegedly new details are reported almost every day.

Borussia and Rose are forced to take a stand every day.

"There is basically no new state of affairs," said Rose about Borussia's point of view.

The club continues to protect Embolo.

He had admitted to having been at the Baldeneysee in Essen last Sunday, but denied participating in a party with 23 people.

He was in an adjoining apartment and saw basketball on TV.

The police, alarmed about the noise, found Embolo in the apartment, but had previously seen a person flee over a flat roof and enter the apartment.

The officials suspect that this was Embolo, which he vehemently denies.

"Gladbach does not believe the police!" Was the title of "Bild" on Thursday.

"We believe the police," replied a club spokesman, but only referred to the fact that Embolo was in the apartment.

"Everything else" is "guesswork".

Quirky case

The case also includes increasingly bizarre details.

On Wednesday there was a request from Embolo's personal environment for a meeting with Essen's Lord Mayor Thomas Kufen, said a city spokeswoman.

The request was obviously not coordinated with Embolo, who did not know anything about it.

"Embolo has not sought personal contact," said the spokeswoman.

There was no meeting and shouldn't be.

For the second time within a few weeks, Rose has the problem of moderating an unpleasant public discussion and still preparing his players for football.

On Friday, his team can climb a Champions League place again.

With someone who was only allowed to watch for longer.

In December Embolos Sturm colleague Marcus Thuram caused a scandal in the 1: 2 against Hoffenheim when he spat opponent Stefan Posch in the face.

The red ban has now expired, except for one game that is suspended.

He will be there on Friday, said Rose of Thuram.

“The story has already bothered him, but now it goes on.

He's terribly sorry.

He'll learn from it, ”said Rose.

The Gladbach coach hopes that Thuram "will also get back credit, which of course he has lost".

The latter should also apply to Embolo.

The theater on the Lower Rhine can only suit the anything but saddle-proof BVB.

The fourth in the table is worried about participating in the Champions League after the 2-1 draw at Bayer Leverkusen on Tuesday.

"Six defeats are definitely too many," said the broken BVB coach Edin Terzic about the season's yield so far.

The Rhinelander have only lost three games this season and would overtake BVB with one success.

Outside Dortmund, however, nobody is currently talking about the low mood there.
