The leader of the Russian national biathlon team, Alexander Loginov, missed the mass start at the sixth stage of the World Cup in Oberhof, Germany.

Commentator Dmitry Guberniev announced the removal of the athlete from the competition on the Telegram channel shortly before the start of the race.

The journalist noted that the coaching staff did not talk about the reasons for the decision.

Guberniev raised the problem of openness in Russian sports: in his opinion, one could immediately publish a post with an explanation on social networks.

“We are worried about Sasha.

There can be thousands of reasons for withdrawal: poor health, tactical nuances, and so on.

Therefore, you just need to report the official information immediately.

This is an integral part of the profession for a public person.

We are still inferior to many in terms of openness.

Loginov in this situation will support everyone in any case and wish him good luck, ”Sport24 quotes Guberniev.

After the commentator's statement, some experts criticized the coaches of the Russian national team.

For example, the winner of the 1980 Olympics, Vladimir Alikin, in an interview with "Championship" expressed the opinion that the current situation indicates a lack of mutual understanding in the team.

He also doubted that the head of the men's team, Yuri Kaminsky, and Mikhail Shashilov, who works with women, is able to manage the teams.

"Shashilov issued yesterday:" If they say to rotate, we will do the rotation. "

Are you a senior coach or who?

You are responsible for the team and take on all responsibilities.

When I was a coach, Barnashov came up to me and asked: "What are your plans here?"

I replied: “Please don’t meddle with me.

I train the team.

When there are no results, then ask. "

What coaches have gone now?

There are some excuses every time, ”the ex-mentor of the Russian men's team emphasized.

He was supported by two-time Olympic champion Dmitry Vasiliev, who suggested that specialists have no contact with the charges, if they cannot even say why Loginov missed the race.

In his opinion, an athlete may not perform for various reasons, but coaches must know about this.

However, after a couple of hours, the coaches of the national team still gave an explanation on the situation with Loginov.

Kaminsky and the head coach of the team, Valery Polkhovsky, said: the 2020 world champion has no injury, but he has health problems, so they decided to keep him before the difficult stage in Anterselva.

However, their words do not coincide with the statement of the athlete's personal mentor Alexander Kasperovich, who linked the absence of the biathlete in the mass start with his preparation plan for the upcoming world championship in Pokljuka.

Two-time Olympic champion Anatoly Alyabyev, in an interview with RT, expressed the opinion that the different statements of the coaches regarding Loginov's absence in the mass start indicate a lack of mutual understanding between Kasperovich and the specialists working in the team.

At the same time, according to the expert, nothing like this should happen when it comes to the national team.

“They need to play one tune before the World Cup.

This situation immediately prompts talk about how well the team has established communication, and also in the press, discussions begin about disagreements in the team.

Perhaps Kasperovich should have kept silent so that only the coaches of the national team could comment, but he expressed his point of view, and everything should be agreed, "Alyabyev said.

The Honored Master of Sports of the USSR was also surprised by the statement of Kasperovich.

Alyabyev believes that Loginov needs to perform as much as possible before the World Championship - this way he will gain shape through participation in races.

“Loginov even said himself that he was slowly getting better.

And if the biathlete refused to participate not because of his feelings and readiness, but simply on the advice of Kasperovich, this is a big minus.

Sasha is already such an experienced athlete that there is no need to teach him everything.

Sometimes the coaches just have to not interfere with him, listen, and then come to a common opinion, "said the ex-biathlete.

Among other things, Alyabyev supported the idea that Loginov should have told himself about the reasons for missing the mass start in Oberhof.

According to the expert, by doing so, the athlete would exclude unhealthy activity from the media.

The break before the Italian stage looks logical, given that Loginov is not performing well this season.

In the individual World Cup, he is ranked 19th, 353 points behind the leading Norwegian Johannes Boe.

“Although Loginov is the leader of our team, this season he has broken a little functionally and psychologically, which is important.

Indeed, the death of his father could have knocked him down, but earlier he had already had failures.

Moreover, this concerned both shooting and movement.

One way or another, preparation affects performance.

And in my opinion, the team should train together.

Whoever says anything, for individual preparation you need to be super-motivated and very strong, although even Ole Einar Bjoerndalen joined the team.

Still, we will have to perform as a single team, ”Alyabyev believes.
