MIki Vukovic

, historic coach of Dorna Godella and Valencia Basket, died this Friday at the age of 76, as reported by the Valencian entity this Friday.

Vukovic arrived in Spain in 1990 to take charge of Dorna Godella, with whom he twice won the European Cup, the highest category in women's continental basketball, in addition to winning the Women's League on several occasions.

In 1995, after releasing the then Pamesa Valencia, the coach took over the Valencian team and took charge of the reconstruction of the club's project.

After returning to the ACB League, Vukovic led him to win the first title in its history, the 1998 Copa del Rey in Valladolid, and with this victory allowed him to also make his debut in European competitions, in that case in the Saporta Cup.

Vukovic remained in Valencia Basket until the summer of 2000, he continues to be the coach who plays the most games at the club, and later returned to the club and was linked to the sports management until his retirement in 2009.

The club conveyed "condolences for the loss of Miki Vukovic, as well as support for family and friends" and announced that a minute of silence will be observed in his memory in the next matches of the men's and women's teams at the Fonteta.
