Tottenham faces Fulham instead of "Corona afflicted" Villa

Tottenham's match against Aston Villa, stricken with the new Corona virus in the Premier League, has been postponed, and Jose Mourinho's men will play Fulham in a postponed match rescheduled Wednesday.

The match against Fulham-Tottenham was previously postponed on December 30 due to the outbreak of Covid-19 among Scott Parker's team.

The Premier League announced in a statement today, Monday, that "after Aston Villa's request to reschedule the match, and because of the number of players and employees who have tested positive for Covid-19 or have been isolated by the club, the Premier League had no other choice but to reschedule the match."

She added that "as a result of this rescheduling, Tottenham will now play their home game against Fulham instead of Aston Villa, Wednesday, January 13th (12:15 UAE time)."

Mourinho had considered it "absolutely impossible" to postpone further matches for his team amid a busy schedule with his participation in four competitions.
