The young Arsenal central defender William Saliba, 19, will finish the season at the Gym on a loan without an option to buy, announced the Riviera club L1 on Monday evening.

"OGC Nice records the reinforcement of William Saliba, loaned by Arsenal until the end of the season," wrote the training on his Twitter account.
The six-month loan could possibly be extended beyond the end of the season.

After a start to the white season in London, Saliba will therefore return to Ligue 1, where he had participated in 28 matches between 2018 and 2020 under the jersey of Saint-Etienne.
ASSE was also a candidate for its reception but it was Nice who won the day.
The Riviera club were looking to strengthen their defensive axis orphaned by Dante, the experienced Brazilian captain who suffered a serious knee injury in November.
The defender was transferred in the summer of 2019 for 30 million euros to Arsenal who loaned him in the wake of Saint-Etienne, his training club.
But since the resumption of the Premier League, the Gunners coach had not called on the native of Bondy.
Asked about the young age of Willian Saliba, Nice coach Adrian Ursea estimated that "the value does not wait for the number of years".
The Romanian technician has especially put forward his "personality released in the game", his contribution "precious on set piece" and "emulation" caused in the group by his arrival.
