In his last eight matches, Badou Jack has either defended a World Cup belt or challenged for one.

Tonight's opponent Blake McKernan was a simple opponent on paper.

Although the American was undefeated with 13 straight victories, nine of his opponents have more losses than victories on the merit list.

And quite rightly, the Swedish big favorite was superior in the ring.

It was one-way traffic and Jack won all eight rounds by far.

The star did a little as he wanted in the ring and seemed completely uninterrupted by the opponent's attacks.

He met with several nice body types, which is the Swede's specialty.

Ex-military McKernan showed signs of toughness and managed to stand on his feet for the rest of the time, but all three judges considered that Jack won the match with the numbers 80-72, ie eight rounds against zero.

The match was Jack's first since December last year when he lost a World Cup fight in light heavyweight (79.3 kilos) against the Canadian Jean Pascal.

The match of the night was in "catch weight", an expression of when two fighters do not follow the usual weight classes but agree on a limit.

Jack weighed in at 85.7 kilos.

The Swedish star told SVT Sport before the match that he believes in a return match against Jean Pascal this spring.

- When Pascal is ready, he can also be beaten.

I can meet him the next day if he wants, but it seems to be in February or March.

February had been perfect for me, he said then.
