Paris SG announced Monday the withdrawal of striker Mauro Icardi, insufficiently recovered from his knee injury, for the crucial Champions League match against Leipzig on Tuesday, for which Marco Verratti remains uncertain.

A decision must be made after the evening's training for the Italian midfielder as well as Ander Herrera, who received a blow to the calf on Thursday.

For this meeting, crucial for qualifying for the 8th, coach Thomas Tuchel has to deal, once again, with a busy infirmary.

While his return was expected, Icardi is "still in the recovery phase, and the return to competition will be specified this week," said PSG.

The Argentine striker, who has not played since October 5, missed 10 of the 14 Parisian matches of the season.

His absence offers his double Moise Kean, author of two goals in C1, a chance to start against Leipzig.

Also injured, Julian Draxler and Idrissa Gueye (thigh) are expected in collective training "at the end of the week", by their club.

Thilo Kehrer (pubalgie) and Juan Bernat (knee) continue the care on their side.

The last absent, central defender Presnel Kimpembe is suspended, after being excluded in Germany, in the 2-1 defeat.

Paris must absolutely win, by erasing the score of the first leg, under penalty of drawing an almost final line on the round of 16.
