Kevin Walker has been one of Djurgården's biggest profiles since he joined the club from Gif Sundsvall in 2015, and became team captain in 2016.

Now, however, after six years, over 100 matches and a Swedish Championship and a Swedish Cup gold, he has decided to leave the club when the contract expires after the season.

- The situation is not good, it is far from optimal for me.

I have known that the confidence from the coaches has been bad already after the match against Gif Sundsvall last year in the first match.

I was on my way but it did not matter what I had achieved before, he says to Expressen, and continues later:

- Instead of whining too much now, based on my situation and how I feel treated, it would only be harmful for the club that I have come to get very close to my heart.

"Would have liked to see a sequel"

He says in the interview with Expressen that the decision has emerged and that he had a first discussion with the sports director Bosse Andersson already this spring.

It is clear in the interview that the decision has been difficult for him.

- Of course it has been tough with what they have built up for so long.

It is not often you play six years in a club.

I would have liked to have seen a continuation, but it is the coaches who decide, he says.

- Personally, I have never felt worse with an employer than I have done this autumn during my career.

There are different aspects to it, but as I said, I prefer not to go into details because we have a match to look forward to.
