The Swedish Handball Association tried to move the men's national team's European Championship qualifier against Kosovo on November 8, due to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' advice to go to Kosovo until November 15.

But got no.

- I presented our arguments to the European Handball Federation (EHF), but last Friday I received a call from EHF that there were very great difficulties in moving the match and finding a reserve date.

We were asked to do everything we can to find other solutions.

And then we found a solution with insurance and a chartered plan that made it safe for our players and leaders to fly there.

And when we ensured that, we made the decision to go there, says Hanna Fogelström.

The Swedish national team will now have its base in Partille, and fly directly from Landvetter Airport to Pristina in Kosovo on November 8, and fly back immediately after the match.

"Up to each individual"

Hanna Fogelström does not see any danger for the players and the leaders' safety to go to Kosovo at the moment.

- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' advice is about unnecessary travel, business travel can be carried out.

We have also talked to Kosovo and updated ourselves on the situation there.

But we have communicated this with players and leaders, if there is anyone who does not want to go.

It is up to each individual.

As it looks now, everyone will be involved, but in these times, all conditions can change quickly, says Hanna Fogelström.
