On Tuesday, national team captain Tomas Axnér presented the squad that will play the European Championships in Norway and Denmark in December.

It did not include the experienced goalkeeper Johanna Bundsen, who, among other things, has played six championships and as many as 90 international matches.

The 29-year-old, who plays in Danish Copenhagen, was judged not to have come in the form needed after the year-long break she took when she became a mother.

- It is of course very sad not to be allowed to participate, but I know that I did not perform during the autumn at the same time as there is now very tough competition for national team places, she says to Bohusläningen, where she explains that she hopes to return in national team form later in the season :

- I get a chance to train during the European Championship break in December and then get to find the form in the spring.

It has been a special year.

I know what I could achieve before the pregnancy, but even if the body responded well to the training, I have to get the timing back.
