It was exciting in the final round when Danielle Kang, also from the USA, chased McDonald.
Kang stood for a birdie on the very last hole, but that was not enough as McDonald won by a total of 16 under par.
- I have never doubted my knowledge, but I have absolutely questioned whether I could win here.
It is very difficult to win here, so I have only struggled and tried to stick to my process since day one.
I am very grateful, says McDonald after the first victory.
Pernilla Lindberg was the best Swede in the competition when she was split eleven, nine under par.
Linnea Johansson was 76th, while Linnea Ström and Louise Ridderström did not pass the qualifying limit.
