During a season where uncertainty will be high due to the covid crisis, Vinterstudion will continue to be the bright alternative and a mainstay in the winter darkness, says Bobby Baksi, project manager for Vinterstudion.
Also this season, Yvette Hermundstad and André Pop share the program leadership and in the studio in Stockholm will also be SVT's winter sports experts, ie cross-country skiing experts Anders Blomquist, Johanna Ojala, Mathias Fredriksson, the alpine experts Pernilla Wiberg, Maria Pietilä Holmner and Tobias Hellman, biathlon experts HelenaEkholm and Björn Ferry, as well as ski cross expert Lars Lewén and ski jumping expert Anders Daun.
"Interesting to follow Stina"
The international federations have announced that the alpine world championships, as well as the World Cup in biathlon and cross-country skiing will be held according to plan and SVT broadcasts all three.
The Alpina WC in Cortina is first out starting on February 8, to be closely followed by the biathlon WC which starts on February 10 and finally the cross-country WC which starts on February 23.
For the Swedish national team in biathlon, SVT's experts Helena Ekholm and Björn Ferry have hopes that not only the season as a whole but also the WC will go well:
- It will be fun to see if the women's team has taken another step forward, if Hanna Öberg pulls the longest straw in the battle for the overall World Cup, if Stina Nilsson gets the chance in the World Cup and if the men rise a couple of levels from last season, says Helena Ekholm, expert commentator .
- It will be very interesting to follow Stina Nilsson's progress!
Hanna Öberg can challenge for the victory in the overall World Cup, and I think that little sister Elvira Öberg will be this year's star shot.
The World Cup is the highlight and I believe in more Swedish medals compared to last year, says Björn Ferry, expert commentator.
