The father of former Russian driver Vitaly Petrov has been killed in Russia, so the current Formula 1 commissioner will not continue to participate this weekend in the Portuguese Grand Prix, the International Automobile Federation (FIA) has confirmed.
"The FIA confirms that due to personal mourning, the 2020 FIA Formula 1 Portuguese Grand Prix commissioner Vitaly Petrov will not continue with his duties for the remainder of the weekend. The FIA's thoughts are with Vitaly and his family at this time, "the statement said.
